And so begins National Poetry Writing Month 2017. I will be striving to write haiku, as many as I can, every day for the whole of April. Words that are in italics are Japanese - I like code-mixing in my haiku (using two languages together) and being a quintessentially Japanese poetry form, it only seems right to squeeze the language in where I can, as I cannot understand enough Japanese to write 100% in the language. So here we go! A month's worth of haiku coming your way.
1.
hazelnut latte
taking a breather at last
busy streets swarm past
2.
like ripened peaches
soft breasts dangling as you
exit ofuro
3.
rotenburo
wet heaven, 40 degrees
cool kiss of the breeze
